Confagricoltura Pavilion – Euroflora 2025
The project for the Confagricoltura Pavilion is based on the fundamental concept of agriculture as a means of promoting territories, their produce, and the invaluable wealth of ancient and modern knowledge that underpins this activity.
The space is conceived as an all-round sensory experience, stimulating all the senses through continuous interaction. The project is inspired by two strongly characterised figures that can simultaneously reflect profound meanings, produce iconic images and orient the layout of the pavilion. These are the Nest and the Dry Wall.

Description
The pavilion is designed as an interactive landscape where nature and culture coexist in harmony. The project aims to celebrate territories, their produce, and the invaluable store of ancient and modern knowledge on which agriculture is based.
The idea is to create an inclusive form of agriculture that is open and understood as a shared experience. It is a modelling tool for the iconic Ligurian, Italian and Mediterranean landscapes. This modelling is attentive and sensitive to the earth, resulting from a continuous dialogue between humans and nature.
The space of the Confagricoltura Pavilion is divided into two parts, because two are the key concepts from which the design reflection started: the Nest and the Drywall.
The Nest is a symbol of nature that welcomes and nurtures growth, providing protection without being impervious to external stresses. It reflects the concept of an open community that develops over time by adapting to its surroundings. This architecturally defined space, characterised by an open knitted wooden structure, houses a meeting and events room for Confagricoltura members and sponsors. At the same time, it evolves into a long counter for serving typical products. At the end of the structure’s sinuous movement is a LED wall for sharing content.
They chose to use rice husk blocks as a construction solution. These blocks are a sustainable and environmentally friendly material that is increasingly being used in green building projects.
This arrangement will create a series of interconnected open spaces, separated by rice husk walls of different heights. These walls can serve as seating for visitors and as containers for flowers and plants.
All of the green equipment in the Confagricoltura pavilion was provided by members of the association who have been involved with the organisation for a long time.
