Description
The villa is divided into two units, on the mezzanine and first floors, complemented by a basement, where cellars are located. The stairwell turret is, on the other hand, topped by a pleasant panoramic terrace.
The design concept revolves around repositioning the spaces to ensure a clear division between the sleeping and living areas, with a particular focus on optimizing the functionality of the central corridor, which also serves as a structural support.
The corridor, in the new vision, clearly divides the living area from the sleeping area, transforming itself into a mock distributive in continuous with the living area and in direct contact with the convivial sphere of the house, served by great natural lighting. In this way, bioclimatic benefits related to the natural unfolding of the daylight hours are optimized. First of all, the rooms, located along the east side, enjoy morning exposure, generating an optimal condition for awakening and the necessary change of air. At midday, on the other hand, when this side of the building is no longer illuminated by direct sunlight, the heat exchange progressively brings the rooms down, making them suitable environments for rest.
The living area, on the other hand, faces southwest and takes full advantage of the sun’s radiation, both in summer and winter, expanding toward the large terrace located to the south, on which, an appropriate pergola will provide the right amount of shade during the hottest summer hours. The large west exposure will allow to take advantage of all the afternoon sun, irradiating the house and lowering the energy needs of the most inhabited rooms. Energy insulation solutions and home automation management of requirements will allow the house to be placed in energy classes A and higher.
