Green design for Villa Calchi Park
This important project aims to transform the outdoor areas of the historic residence, which is now used for events and weddings. It originates from a study of the existing areas, which identified opportunities for the introduction of new native species to create green spaces of high landscape value.
The existing vegetation was reviewed in terms of both aesthetics and functionality, with the aim of integrating the locations for welcoming guests into the landscape. New footpaths were developed, photo spots were identified, and a new scenic lighting system was installed.

Description
The park at Villa Calchi has always been an integral part of the 16th-century villa’s identity. Set in the picturesque Brianza hills and adorned with magnificent nature-inspired frescoes, the villa is now a venue for bespoke events, including weddings, gala dinners and corporate conventions.
The greenery design for the park was developed on three levels: tall trees, which are useful for creating natural backdrops within the area and are sometimes restricted; shrubs, which define the flowerbeds and pedestrian paths; and low lawns, which are in areas designed to welcome guests.
The entire design was based on flowering calendars to ensure a constant supply of flowering elements throughout the year, regardless of the season.
A number of distinctive features have been identified within the park that the greenery project intends to enhance specifically. In particular, the lowest part of the park is intended to be a library of trees, showcasing the typical species found in the surrounding areas. Another area is planned to feature an Italian-style garden, while the section with the greatest elevation difference will house a vineyard for self-production, immediately followed by a lemon grove with a viewpoint. The project also proposes an iron and glass greenhouse for hosting events and a bio-pool for photography.
To enable visitors to experience the park all year round and at all times of day, a scenic lighting system has been developed.
