Description

Preserving the site’s identity while reinterpreting it through modern and functional spaces dedicated to guest comfort and well-being is the fundamental concept behind the project for constructing five new guest houses for Tili Vini winery in Assisi, Perugia. From landscape analysis to intricate detailing, every aspect is geared towards enriching the tasting experience that the winery offers its visitors while providing them with accommodation.

The project seeks to create a seamless blend of old and new architecture. Two existing buildings on the site are preserved and interconnected via the addition of new guest houses and a covered walkway, forming a historical gallery.

The new guest houses, characterized by simple shapes and neutral colors, are located at the rear of the complex, with their glazed fronts facing outwards to preserve the privacy of each guest and to provide them with magnificent of the surrounding landscape. The two existing buildings will be refurbished and reused for amenities, hospitality services, a wine bar, tasting areas, and catering.

The actual tasting trail is situated in the outdoor space in front of the buildings, inspired by grape clusters and vines, featuring large circles and spirals that create pathways, play areas, water features, relaxation spots, and tasting stations dedicated to the winery’s four main wines, along with a fifth station for extra virgin olive oil.

The surrounding space and environment are transformed into a holistic sensory experience, utilizing colors, scents, and vistas to envelop visitors in the tranquility and historical charm of the Umbrian countryside.
