GEOMETRY OF THE HORIZON – INSTALLATION FOR Fe.M
Conceived for Fe.M – the Microarchitecture Festival, the installation interprets the Peglio viewpoint as a space where landscape, history and human presence intersect. A geometric platform, inspired by the dimensions of the historic tower and slightly raised above the ground, adapts to the site’s topography, creating spaces for rest, socialising and contemplation.
A minimalist architectural installation that invites visitors to observe, walk through and experience the landscape in a mindful way.

Description
The installation stems from a desire to forge a connection between the landscape and the observer. On the one hand, the horizon – a seemingly unchanging image stretching beyond the village of Peglio; on the other, the ground, composed of matter, memory and everyday practices. The project sits between these two dimensions, transforming the vantage point into a place where nature, history and human presence converge.
The site, dominated by the watchtower and overlooking the Montefeltro landscape, provides an ideal setting for reflecting on the relationship between architecture and the local area. The proposal takes shape from a basic geometric form: a square of similar dimensions to those of the tower, rotated along the axis that ideally connects the site to the city of Urbino. This geometric form rests on the ground without imposing itself, allowing the chalky rocks that form the site’s natural foundation to emerge.
The micro-architecture is conceived as a dialogue between abstract form and the morphology of the landscape. A second level, slightly raised above the existing ground, undulates to create different ways of experiencing the space: pausing, observing, meeting, contemplating.
The installation offers an open and inclusive experience, capable of accommodating both the intimate dimension of contemplation and the collective dimension of social interaction. The structure does not dictate how visitors should behave, but suggests possibilities, inviting them to forge their own connection with the space.
The project presented at Fe.M – the Microarchitecture Festival – explores the role of architecture as a means of enhancing the local area and rediscovering the relationship between people and the landscape.
